Money Making University (MMU)的学生
而且还是MMU会计系学生!

those old days

A grand PC sales event was part of IT Fair 2002. It was held in the Exam Hall from 17 May to 19 May 2002. There were about 25 vendors participating who sold everything PC-related, from laptops and printers to computer accessories. As the IT fair had been given extensive publicity, it attracted MMU students and outsiders alike.

Due to the intense competition among the vendors, they resorted to using their own gimmicks to increase their salability. They offered lower prices than those outside and good bargains to prospective buyers. Some vendors even offered free gifts to students. All you had to do was to fill up a form and you would receive a CD-R.

Many booths were blasting music to show off their speakers and monitors in order to attract customers, creating a carnival-like atmosphere. However, this made the dealers and customers face some difficulties in hearing one another over the noise.

Many gamers could be seen at the "Overclocker's Paradise," which promoted its line of cooling units and impressive multimedia hardware. The smoothness of the MadOnion demonstrations run on their PCs definitely wowed the onlookers.

Many students found the laptop and printer displays the most interesting though, as these were the items needed most by them. This was evident by the sheer number of people checking out these items.

The PC sales definitely benefited those who wished to ooh and ahh at the latest in technology or purchase cutting-edge computers at bargain prices. No need to go back home or rush to computer fairs in another state; everything is here in the comfort of your home away from home.

and this~!!

If you had entered MMU anywhere from the 17 to 19 of June 2002 you might have thought you were smelling things. A “kingly” aroma, to be exact. Don’t panic, your nose did not deceive you.

The “King of Fruit Fiesta”, organized by the MMU College Committee, was held in front of the F2 building from 17 June to 19 June 2002. The SCC organized this fruit festival especially for durian lovers to enjoy the durians even when away from their hometowns during the durian season. Besides, they were raising funds for another programs that will be carried out in the future.

Only RM5 (for hostel residents) or RM7 (for non-hostel residents) was charged to enjoy as many durians as you liked. Many durian lovers took this chance to stay at the booth for hours to sample the durians. In order to promote the Durian Fiesta, interesting slogans were thought up to attract attention from students, such as “even kings eat durian”, “eat durian, sleep durian” and “never judge durian by its smell”.

According to one of the committee members, Hernie Marlynna Mursaid, the response of the students towards the durian fiesta was good, particularly in the evening. There were fewer students who came to taste the durian in the morning, perhaps because they had to attend classes. The general enthusiasm could be seen on the last day when the durian lovers from Alpha to Delta alike grabbed their last chance to enjoy the delicious durians in the booth.

Although the response was good, there were some bad comments about the festival. Because of the strong smell, the hostel residents did not like durians felt uncomfortable, as they could smell it even from the top floor of the hostel. The organizer should have tried to find another venue for the event.

The event was a success. Now other fruit lovers are hoping for another fiesta promoting a different fruit - mangoes, mangosteens, or langsats. Personally, we hope that the organizer will consider it too.

kiang send me this, our articles that we wrote for nexus 4 years ago.it remind me of those days when we were in SPB :D it is just a short period we had been there, short till i almost forget about that. but now looking back, slowly recall those memory, is still a beautiful one.2 freshies in mmu, a little bit dumb?a little bit "innocent"? =P kinda funny that time.

life is made up by different phases, different parts. back in secondary school, there had been many clubs that i joint b4, CLS, debate society, RCS, n others, all those are for short period only, and finally i chose counselling club to major in. not to forget, xuehai, the cadet reporter that light up my secondary school life.in university, i joint SPB b4 joining CLS.all those activities, no matter how long or how short period i involved in, gave me different kind of meaning and experiences.i really appreciate all those parts that complement my study life.

i'll miss those old days, but i will looking forward for better future~

~~just in case you found that my writing is totally different from the above articles, nothing much to doubt about, is just because the 2 articles had been edited, i mean...quite a lot! ya my engish is poor, and even poorer now. so i don't think that i can write any article again, both in english and mandarin.~~poor!
